New Beginnings 2.0

My journey into the world of medicine is and remains the most amazing gift a human can experience; second only to the gift of love that fills your heart as you gaze upon the faces of your spouse, your children and grandchildren, and your parents before them.

Putting into words the pull I felt at a young age to follow my heart into either being a nun, nurse, or doctor seems nearly impossible. I will do my best to describe those feelings that started in the late 1970’s. I remember looking in the mirror as a nine year old girl full of hope, wondering what I would see in my 20’s, 30’s and beyond. I knew that I loved all that was nature, all that represented a connection to growth, and all that represented an explanation about the inner workings of the body.

My five years as a Licensed Practical Nurse made me want to understand everything in medicine in order to make a difference in the lives of others and in the lives of my children. Medical school was as hard as it was exhilarating. Training in the era of unrestricted work hours, and exposure to unprofessionalism from superiors did not make me question my decision. I loved learning and taking care of people. It was and is an honor.

That love for caring for my fellow women remains as strong as it was in the beginning. While the pandemic has certainly changed how we practiced, it also has brought opportunities for growth, innovation, and new beginnings.

It is my sincere hope to spend the next decade caring for women virtually in the areas of female health that require a holistic approach. Each of us have a unique story, yet each of us face many of the same challenges of womanhood. I will be privileged to share in those journeys with you.
